Using a travel agent based in the U.S. we booked a two week guided trip to Namibia for our family of seven. Arranging trips in this fashion is always a bit hit and miss because you never know what the guide will be like. However, it was clear from the moment we met Francois Visser at the airport that we’d hit the jackpot. In addition to the fact that he seemed to know everything and everyone in Namibia, he was engaging, funny, full of stories and willing to do anything to ensure the trip was the most memorable we had ever had as a family.
While we had set up all our accommodations and activities before we arrived, Francois made a host of adjustments to be sure our trip was authentically Namibian. We surfed sand dunes, ate in truly local establishments at his suggestion and even met his family. Had I known him before I would have had him arrange everything ahead of time – we would have seen even more than we did and at a fraction of the cost. I couldn’t possibly imagine a better guide for a Namibian adventure. My only disappointment is that he hasn’t taken us up on our offer to come to the U.S. to stay with us.
In November 2016 we were lucky 8 to enjoy a perfectly planned trip throughout Namibia, full with drives and excursions.
François, our very animated guide, informed us in a lively and fascinating way about his country, the history of Namibia, the inhabitants/residents (ik weet niet wat het beste woord is voor inwoners) and the fauna and flora, with the right level of humour.
The service was superb and even for unexpected circumstances (e.g. illness of one of the group members) a solution was found immediately. François gave his best to make it a trip to never forget, through his beautiful country with an ever varying landscape !
Andre Visser was our guide during a two week bus tour through Namibia with 18 people.
Despite his young age he thoroughly knows the country and knows what he’s talking about. He’s enthusiastic, polite and friendly but still assertive enough to handle such a group. I highly recommend him as a guide! Well done, Andre!
Leoparden haben wir nicht zu Gesicht bekommen. „Kein Wunder“, frotzelt Francois.
Throughout our two-week stay in Namibia, we had the privilege to have Andre Visser as our tourguide, who provided us with a perfect mix of useful information, perfect organisation and humour.
Thinking about visiting Namibia? Don’t hesitate to contact these people!

Happy New Year from Germany
Tracking Namibia, André mach weiter so!
Mr. Visser is an excellent tour guide with a sound knowledge in the fields of flora, fauna – particularly wildlife, geology and geography of Namibia and southern Africa as well as cultural, historical and political subjects.
He has a strong talent for well explaining complex matters, this way promoting understanding of and interest in all topics which on may encounter during such a trip.
It also worth to be mentioned that Mr. Visser is speaking a very good German which is helpful for guests from Germany (or German speaking European countries) like my daughter whose English might perhaps not be up to date.
Lastly, as singly travelling women my daughter and I have felt very safe with Mr. Visser and would engage in a tour with him any time again.
Mum and I have travelled twice with Francois of Tracking Namibia Safaris. Francois worked with us to design a safari within our budget that delivered excellent game viewing with just the right amount of comfort. Our safaris were well organised with great food and hospitality.
The memories of animal sightings are in our heads forever – to see elephant so close, brown hyena at Okaukuejo waterole, thousands of carmine bee-eaters, male lions snoozing in the early sun and a thousand zebra milling about in Etosha makes us realise how lucky we are to have shared this experience with our guide Francois. It was all amazing, thank you so much.
